An antique cedar chest is ready to store cherished linens once more.

What happened?

Thanks to their fresh aromatic scent and ability to repel insects and fungi, cedar chests have been used for centuries to store fabric and clothing. This particular cedar chest exhibited all the tell-tale signs of severe water damage when it arrived at National Restorations.

How did we fix it?

We first stripped the finish using our flow-over stripping method. Next, the chest was carefully prepped and sanded. Finally, our finishing specialists custom mixed a color to fit the client's needs, and completed the finishing process.
